JSW Steel and JFE Steel have completed their INR 7,875 crore joint venture transaction, with JFE increasing its stake to 50%.

JSW Steel Ltd. and Japan’s JFE Steel Corporation have completed their INR 7,875 crore joint venture transaction, with JFE acquiring an additional 25% stake in JSW JFE Kalinga Steel Ltd., taking its total shareholding in the company to 50%. The transaction was initially announced on March 30, 2026, and gives both partners joint control of JSW JFE Kalinga Steel Ltd. (formerly JSW Kalinga Steel Ltd.) and its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW JFE Steel Ltd., the company said in a regulatory filing.
The joint venture agreement between the two companies was originally signed on December 3, 2025. Following the latest stake acquisition, the agreement has been fully implemented, marking the formal establishment of the 50:50 joint venture.

JSW Steel said the partnership is aimed at combining the technological expertise of JFE Steel with JSW Steel’s manufacturing capabilities to strengthen steel production and expand the companies’ market presence.
